Carnival Cruise Line Implements New Age Policy – What You Need to Know
Carnival Cruise Line has just announced an important policy change that could impact young travelers—especially those planning spring break cruises. Effective immediately, guests must be at least 21 years old to book and sail on their own. Anyone under 21 must have at least one person over the age of 25 in their party.
This update does not mean Carnival has transitioned to an adults-only cruise line. However, it does place new restrictions on younger guests traveling alone. There are two key exceptions to this rule:
- Married couples who are at least 18 years old (must provide proof of marriage).
- Active-duty military members who are at least 18 years old (must provide proof of active service).
This change could have a major impact on college students who planned on cruising for spring break. Carnival has advised guests between the ages of 18 and 21 to contact the cruise line or their travel agent to modify their booking if necessary.
If you have questions about how this policy affects your upcoming cruise, reach out to your travel agent or Carnival Cruise Line directly.

Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas Rescues Cuban Refugees
Passengers on Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas were in for an unexpected humanitarian mission when their cruise ship came across a distressed small boat carrying Cuban refugees in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship, which was chartered by LGBTQ+ travel company Vacaya, launched a rescue operation after spotting the overcrowded vessel.
Witnesses on board reported that the small boat was taking on water, and the passengers were desperately trying to bail it out. Crew members acted quickly to bring the 11 refugees aboard the cruise ship, providing them with dry clothes, food, water, and medical attention.
Vacaya’s CEO, Randall Roper, noted that guests onboard quickly mobilized to donate supplies and provide additional aid through Vacaya’s philanthropic initiatives.
It’s unclear what will happen next for the rescued individuals, but this is yet another example of how cruise ships play a crucial role in maritime rescues.
