Let’s Make Magic Happen!
Information For Your Walt Disney World Vacation!

Before We Begin….

Walt Disney World is filled with options and choices, so before we jump right into planning, let’s go over some of the options available to you. We’ll help you make the right choices for your family based on the vacation priorities that mean the most to you!

Places to Stay: On Disney Property or Off?

One of the first decisions you’ll make about a trip to Walt Disney World is where you stay. Not only does Disney offer a variety of hotel options to suit a range of budgets, there are also many options in the area immediately surrounding Walt Disney World where you’ll find a different list of options and amenities.

Some things that may influence your decision are:

Advantages to staying on property Advantages to staying off-property
  • Complimentary transportation between the resorts and the theme parks.
  • All resort guests are offered extra theme park time in the morning (30 minutes before park opening), and guests of some resorts can enjoy extra time in the evening after the parks close
  • Booking dining reservations can be done 60 days in advance for your entire stay
  • Booking the brand new Lightning Lane Multipass can be done 7 days in advance for your entire stay
  • In 2025, Walt Disney World resort guests can enjoy free admission to one of the Walt Disney World water parks on check-in day
  • Walt Disney World resort guests can purchase a dining plan
  • There are less expensive options off-property.
  • Some of the off-property hotels include breakfast
  • Some area hotels provide complimentary scheduled transportation to a Disney theme park
  • Some resorts off property qualify for the extra theme park time
  • Some off-property options offer free airport transportation
  • There is flexibility in booking off-property – you can usually find an entire home for about the cost of a Walt Disney World deluxe resort room

Types of Disney Accommodations

You’ll have so many options to choose from when it comes to picking a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. The hotel categories are:

      • Deluxe Resort – These resorts will offer larger than normal rooms – usually accommodating up to five guests; multiple dining locations, including a signature dining experience or a character meal, as well as a food court/counter service option; a variety of theme park transportation options; onsite recreation like bike rentals and watercraft rentals; and multiple swimming options. Guests at these resorts will also be eligible for extra evening hours at the theme parks.

      • Deluxe Villa Resort – These resorts offer many of the amenities you’ll find at the Deluxe resorts, but accommodations here include 1, 2, and 3-bedroom villas to accommodate parties of up to 12. The 2 and 3-bedroom villas also feature washers and dryers, full kitchens, and dining room tables.

      • Moderate Resort – Most of these resort rooms accommodate up to 4 guests (although in some instances, you can accommodate 5), and the rooms are a little smaller than the Deluxe resort rooms. You will usually find dining options that include a table service restaurant as well as a food court, and there may be multiple transportation options to get to the parks. These resorts have a feature pool and often an additional quiet pool.

      • Value Resort – These are the most affordable options at Walt Disney World. Unless you specifically request a family suite, these rooms accommodate up to 4 guests, with many rooms featuring a double bed and a double-sized Murphy bed, which can be folded up to provide more living space during your time in the room. These resorts have a food court and a main, themed pool, and transportation is almost exclusively motor coach (Pop Century does have access to the Skyliner).

      • Fort Wilderness Campground – The campgrounds offer RV space, tent space, and they have cabins for rent that will sleep up to six guests with most of the amenities of home. There is always at least one type of transportation running from the campground to the theme parks and in addition to both sit down and counter service dining options, the campground is home to the famous Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue dinner show

    Theme Park Tickets

Disney theme park tickets are sold like this:

        • One day – one park tickets

        • One-day park hopper tickets

        • Multi-day one park-per-day tickets

        • Multi-day park hopper tickets

        • One park per day ticket with Water Park and sports option

        • Park hopper Plus – which adds the Water Parks and sport option

There is no such thing as a discounted Disney theme park ticket. The only ONE reliable place that may offer any type of discount over current pricing is Undercover Tourist. Don’t be tempted by eBay resellers, roadside stands, or other promises of cheaper Disney tickets.

      Disney Dining Plans

A Disney Dining Plan is a way to pre-pay for some of your dining experiences before you ever get to your vacation. You will receive credits to be used towards quick service meals, counter service meals, and snacks during your stay at a Walt Disney World resort.
If you choose to purchase a dining plan, everyone on your reservation must have the dining plan.

Children ages 3-9 can make their selections from the children’s menus, and guests over 9 can choose from the regular menu.
Some dining experiences will require two credits. These experiences include signature dining, some character dining, and dinner shows.

There are two dining plans available.
Quick Service – gives you two quick (counter) service meal credits and one snack per night of your stay, plus one resort refillable mug per person. These mugs can be refilled at your resort at any time.
Disney Dining Plan – gives you one quick service meal and one table service meal credit plus one snack per night of your stay, and one resort refillable mug.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
